Goodwill spreads to Ocean Township
Goodwill Industries of Southern New Jersey & Philadelphia will host a four-day grand-opening celebration at its newest store and donation center at One North Mall Drive in Ocean Township. The festivities will begin Sept. 15 and continue through Sept. 18. Hours of operation are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
The 30,746-square-foot Goodwill Store & Donation Center in Ocean Township is the nonprofit agency’s second location in Monmouth County. It is stocked with high-quality new and gently used clothing, accessories, household items, toys, furniture and more. Local residents can donate gently used items that they no longer need in return for a tax deduction at the donation center. The site will also serve as Goodwill’s northern territory operations hub, housing a recycling center, transportation division and a distribution center, and a warehouse for processing donations. The site employs 25-35 people.
A nonprofit, community-based organization, Goodwill’s mission is to provide job training and career services that help local residents with disabilities and disadvantages get to work. The largescale collection and resale of donated goods fund these programs while contributing to the region’s recycling efforts.
Donors play a vital role in Goodwill’s ability to fulfill its charitable mission of helping people get to work. Donations, including clothing, household items, furniture, toys, books, computers and other peripheral equipment, will be accepted under the building’s side canopy. As a nonprofit organization, all donations to Goodwill are tax-deductible by law, and receipts are always provided. Goodwill donation attendants and an automated donation kiosk are always on site.
