The date for the 11th annual “Food for Thought” is Monday, April 11, at the Eatontown Sheraton. The event begins at 5:30 pm. More than 20 restaurants will be participating, including Carlos’s Bakery (The Cake Boss) from Hoboken. Proceeds will benefit the Eatontown School District. Tickets can be purchased by calling 732-935-3304. Corporate tables are also available.

The Elks’ monthly all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner will be held 6-7:30 p.m. April 15 at 150 Garfield Ave., Long Branch. The cost is $7 and includes soup, salad, spaghetti with red sauce, spaghetti with white clam sauce, chicken parmigiana, sausage and peppers, ziti, meatballs, bread, butter, coffee, tea and dessert. The Wellness Community, 613 Hope Road in Eatontown, will present “Nature’s Delight: Welcoming Spring” 1-2 p.m. April 13. Sophie Weiner, master gardener, is back to help celebrate spring. Tap into your creative spirit and find joy in working with spring flowers and make an arrangement to take home. All materials are provided. Space is limited; register early at 732-578-9200. All programs are free of charge to people affected by cancer.

The Art Society of Monmouth County will meet 10:30 a.m.-noon April 20 at Monmouth Beach Cultural Center, 128 Ocean Ave. at Seacrest Road. Everyone interested in art is welcome. A social half-hour is followed by an 11 a.m. presentation by Lavallette artist Mary Jo Austin, whose oil paintings can be seen at Anchor & Palette Gallery and The Jolly Tar, both in Bay Head, and Frederick Galleries in Spring Lake. The American Legion Family Post 346, Unit 346 and SAL Squadron 346 will host a country dance with music by Blue Sky Duo at the post home, 21 Gully Road, Neptune, 7-11 p.m. April 30. The Greater Township of Ocean Democratic Club will hold its monthly meeting beginning 7:30 p.m. April 21 at the Ocean Township Recreation Complex, 615 West Park Ave, Oakhurst, (side entrance). The Eatontown Lions Club will hold its annual pancake breakfast 8 a.m.-1 p.m. April 17 at the Meadowbrook School, Wyckoff Road near Broad Street (Route 71), Eatontown. Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, orange juice and coffee, tea or milk. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children under age 12. Proceeds support Eatontown Lions service projects.

A discussion will follow. “The Shadow Effect” is a docudrama that reveals why suppressed emotions and unresolved internal conflicts lead to behavior that unseats politicians, destroys careers, destabilizes the economy and affects the lives of millions. Long Branch Department of Recreation, in conjunction with Monmouth County YMCA’s Camp Arrowhead, will be offering 20 summer camp experiences per week from June 27 through Aug. 26 for ages 5-15. In honor of Prevent Animal Cruelty Month, the Homeward Bound Adoption Center,

260 Wall St., Eatontown, will be celebrating the work of Chief Buddy Amato and the Humane Law Enforcement Division as well as rediscovering the wonderful traits of the pit bull.
