Two information sessions about a free mammogram program at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, will be held 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 11 and 25. An information table in the main lobby will offer details on the Susan G. Komen for the Cure “Reach Out for Life” initiative. The program is open to Monmouth County women age 40 and older who are uninsured or under-insured and meet income eligibility requirements. The Long Branch Elks will team up with the National Wrestling Superstars and their sister all-ladies promotion Women Superstars Uncensored for an outdoor show on Aug. 7 at the Long Branch Elks Lodge show grounds, 150 Garfield Ave. at Memorial Parkway. Bell time is 8 p.m. In case of rain, the show will be moved to the Seashore Broadway Gym & Arena, 404 Broadway. On Aug. 11 Prevention First will host its second annual benefit concert, Rock to Prevent, in Festival Plaza at Pier Village. Rock to Prevent highlights the spirit of youth and community and inspires young people to write, play music and find their own voice. The concert is free. The show kicks off at 1 p.m. with Virginia. Seniors who are having difficulty covering their monthly bills may find this an ideal solution. Monmouth University presents “Quilting: Looking Forward,” handcrafted quilts from the last 35 years, during August. with a reception 5-7 p.m. Aug. 31. The exhibit celebrates the official naming of the Monmouth University Pollak Art Gallery by Lois Broder, daughter of Life Trustee Maurice Pollak, who donated 10 acres of land to the university.
