Debra Camal, M.D., a surgeon who specializes in the treatment of breast disease, has been named medical director of the Jacqueline M. Wilentz Comprehensive Breast Center at Monmouth Medical Center.

A resident of Holmdel, Camal earned a medical degree from the State University of New York/Health Science Center at Brooklyn, N.Y. She completed a general surgery internship at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, R.I., and a surgical residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Newark, where she served as chief resident.

As medical director, Camal will oversee the clinical operation of the Jacqueline M. Wilentz Comprehensive Breast Center — a facility that takes a coordinated approach to breast health, for both well and cancer care, in a comfortable and supportive environment.
