Daylily Day will be held at Deep Cut Gardens, 352 Red Hill Road, Middletown, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 26. Early cultivars will be on display along with advice, handouts and catalogs. Holiday Express received the Circle of Excellence Award for Community Service from the Greater Monmouth Chamber of Commerce on June 3. The award is designed to foster public awareness of the service and leadership that Holiday Express has demonstrated. Tim McLoone, founder of Holiday Express, accepted the award on behalf of the nonprofit group, which delivers music, food, gifts, financial support and friendship to those with the greatest need during the holiday season and throughout the year. New Jersey Blood Services, which supplies blood products and services to 60 hospitals throughout the state, is in need of volunteers to work blood drives. The blood service volunteer assists donors with registration, escorting and canteen duties, and to watch for post-donation reactions. Volunteers should be able to relate to the public, perform different jobs as needed and have the willingness to follow the rules. For details, contact R. The second annual Eastpointe Raising Hope, will be held from noon to 5 p.m. June 27 in the Eastpointe Shopping Center parking lot, Atlantic Highlands. Proceeds from rides, games and attractions, as well as raffles and silent auctions will all benefit the Hope for Children Foundation NJ. The day will include music, an inflatable slide, dunk tank and other rides, games, and attractions, in addition to raffles, silent auctions and giveaways.

Children 10 and up who are looking for a creative and fun way to wind up their summer vacation can take advantage of a Performing Arts Workshop in Shrewsbury, 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 9-13. The workshop will culminate in a performance at Christ Church, Shrewsbury, on Aug. 14. The workshop will be conducted by Christine Psolka and Patrice Thornton, drama teacher and director at Middletown High School North. Enrollment is limited and must be received by July 9. The Guild of Creative Art, 620 Broad St., Shrewsbury, will host an opening reception 3-5 p.m. July 11 for “Landscapes/ Seascapes/Local Scenes.” The exhibit includes a variety of mixed-media artwork by many members of the guild.
