Rumson’s Nicholas Podesta continues to dominate his age division in tennis. For the third time, the eighth-grader at the Ranney School has been ranked No. 1 in the East by the United States Tennis Association (USTA).

Podesta was ranked No. 1 for 2009 in the Boys 14-Under Division. Previously, he was ranked No. 1 in 12-Under (2008) and 10-Under (2006).

In 2009 Podesta won three consecutive sectional titles and was a finalists in the B-14 National Open.

The next major event for the Rumson player will be the Easter Bowl in April. Podesta trains at the Brunswick Hills Racket Club in East Brunswick.
