Casino Night will help homeless veterans
      A Casino Night sponsored by the Italian American Association will be held at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 2179, 1 Veterans Lane, Port Monmouth, Middletown, 7-11 p.m. April 24. Proceeds will benefit Vetwork, an organization that helps homeless veterans in Monmouth County. Admission of $55 will include a buffet dinner and $200 in casino chips. Prizes will be awarded.

N.J. offering rebates on new appliances
      The state of New Jersey has $8.3 million dollars available in rebate funds for homeowners interested in replacing old, inefficient appliances with qualifying new, energy-efficient Energy Star-rated appliances. This program, which was launched Feb. 1, is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

County park system celebrates 50 years
      As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, the Monmouth County Park System is installing an exhibit highlighting pinnacle moments from the past five decades. The exhibit will be held in the Holmdel Park shelter building, Longstreet Road, Holmdel.
