A ‘Deviled Egg’ ‘Tickled Pink’ in a ‘Loud Outfit’

‘Keep An Eye Out” for a “Brainstorm” as 16 area high school art students showcase their “True Colors.” Check out “Figures of Speech” on view through March 26 in the CVA Gallery as part of the Monmouth County Arts Council’s Teen Arts Festival, which takes place March 18 and 19 at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft.

After viewing this show, the image in your mind’s eye might be forever changed.

This is a delightfully unpredictable show. Students share their personal interpretations of phrases we all use. Some of these artworks might reveal a “Wild Woman Within,” as they appear “Face-to-Face.” Others conjure what it feels to be “Moonstruck,” “Climbing the Walls,” “Getting a Leg Up,” or being “Down in the Dumps.” What did you say? I can’t hear you, “Cat Got Your Tongue?”
