Asbury Park celebrates Samedi Gras

Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce will present First Saturday Asbury Park’s Samedi Gras Feb. 6. The event will feature live jazz and performances by Asbury Park High School Marching Band, The Matt Wade Jazz Trio, The Passion Group and others. There will be various sales and events, as well as Haitian relief efforts throughout Asbury Park. A Bob Marley birthday celebration will be at the Stone Pony and Songwriters Circle local acoustic musicians at The Showroom. Master mask maker Tomaso Migliaccio will teach mask making at Stacy Gemma; the $20 donation will benefit the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation. The Wonder Bar will host its Valentine’s Day ’80s Ball and Southside Florist will give out roses to the first 100 visitors at The Passion Group.
