Nominations sought for BCC's Wilbur Ray Awards

MIDDLETOWN — The Brookdale Community College Foundation is soliciting nominations for the Wilbur Ray Service Awards, which recognize Monmouth County residents who have made a significant impact on the local community through professional and community service.

There are six categories for nominations: Business Service, Education Service, Community Service, Community Service Organization, Criminal Justice Service and Health Care Service.

The awards are named after the late Wilbur Ray, former chief of the Brookdale Police and a friend and mentor to many.

The deadline for nominations is Monday, Nov. 30. Nominations will be reviewed by a committee of business leaders, local community members and Brookdale staff.

The recipients will be honored at the 25th annual Wilbur Ray Awards Dinner on Feb. 19 at Branches, West Long Branch. Proceeds from the event will help support the Wilbur Ray Scholarship Program, which provides scholarships for students of color.

For information, contact the Brookdale Foundation Office at 732-224-2282 or send nominations to: Brookdale Foundation, Wilbur Ray Service Award Nomination, 765 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft, NJ 07738.
