      Residents earn prizes in senior art contest

      Six Monmouth County residents have been named winners in the 2009 statewide senior citizen art contest sponsored by the New Jersey Association of Area Agencies on Aging, Freehold. Best in Show in the professional category for watercolor went to Frank Colaguori, West Long Branch. Winners and categories are: Frank Colaguori, first place, watercolor- professional, for "Three Jugs"; Lola Adolf, Atlantic Highlands, first place, oil- professional, for "HighlandsBridge";Barbara Silvano,Middletown, first place, watercolor- nonprofessional, for "Backyard in the Tuscan Hills"; and Freehold Township residents and honorable mention winners Michael Menendez, photography- professional, for "River Street, Savannah"; Mary-Elaine Smith, pastel- professional, for "Ancestor's Song"; and Marilyn Tarr, mixed media- nonprofessional, for "Hats."
