      Hawks romp Sacred Heart, prepare for the champs
      Monmouth University Hawks take Sacred Heart 42-20
            One week after losing a heartbreaking 27-24 contest to Wagner, the Monmouth University football team was in desperate need of a pick-meup game. That is exactly what they got on Saturday, as the Hawks traveled to Fairfield, Conn. and put together a solid overall performance in beating Sacred Heart, 42-20.

      Altland shines at Princeton x-country race
            Christina Altland didn't let the conditions hold her back. Running in a steady rain on a muddy track in 40-degree temperatures, the Monmouth University junior came up with her best race of the season in leading the Monmouth University women to a seventh place at the Princeton Invitational on Oct. 17.

      Wall Stadium plans day of racing on Oct. 24
            The Oct. 24 "Tommy Comerford Memorial" will offer plenty of racing action at Wall Stadium, Wall Township. In addition to the twin 66-lap main events for the tour type Modifieds, the Calabreeze Pools Sportsman division, the Street Stocks, the INEX Legend Cars and the Flanagan Retail Development Factory Stocks will also be on the card.
