Audubon meeting, bird walk slated in October
The Monmouth County Audubon Society will meet at 8 p.m. Oct. 14 at Trinity Episcopal Church, White Street, Red Bank.
Wildlife rehabilitator and master bird bander Giselle Chazotte Smisko will present "Chimney Swift Conservation" at the free meeting, which is open to the public. She will present the challenges faced by chimney swifts today, such as changes in chimney design that keeps the swifts from attaching their nests.
An autumn bird walk to look for raptors and songbirds will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 17 beginning at the visitor's center at Sandy Hook. The free trip will be led by members of the MCAS and is open to both members and nonmembers. Pets are not permitted.
