      Mayor lacks fiduciary responsibility to taxpayers
            As Long Branch taxpayers, we find it stunning that Mayor Adam Schneider and his City Council allies have allowed senior managers in city hall to punish us with millions of dollars in unused sick and vacation time. In 2005, the mayor allowed $8.1 million in sick and vacation time to accrue for the city's managers and senior employees.

      Public needs specifics from gubernatorial candidates
            While watching the debate for governor, something stuck out to me, Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine has a record to look at and analyze, independent candidate Chris Daggett offered wellthought out plans on what he would do to tackle the state's big problems, though Republican candidate Chris Christie offered very little in terms of specifics.

      Assemblywoman doesn't want to move to North Dakota
            Despite the financial troubles facing our state, I still love New Jersey. I don't want to follow so many of our neighbors who have had to move to another state. I want to stay here and help find ways to cure our proud state of its many ills.

      Politicians need to introduce tort reform
            Rush Holt recently held a town meeting and was asked why "tort reform" was not a part of the health care plan. His response was that even if all of the court awarded judgments were reduced to zero that the savings would be at best 1 percent.
