The 53rd Friendly Fair will be held 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. July 11 at Manasquan Friends Meeting (Quakers), 2257 Meetinghouse Road, Manasquan. A first-time homebuyer education workshop will be presented by the Affordable Housing Alliance 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. July 18 at Eatontown Community Center. The HUDcertified workshop will discuss the home buying process, down payment assistance and special loan programs. Registration is $45, and advance registration is required. The Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association will present "Airs & Arabesques," a concert featuring Kathleen Bride, harp; Christine Kwak, violin; and Gordon Turk, organ, 7:30 p.m. July 23 at the Great Auditorium, Pilgrim and Ocean Pathways. The seventh annual Boardwalk Art Show will be 9 a.m.-4 p.m. July 25 in Historic Ocean Grove. The juried show sponsored by the Ocean Grove Area Chamber of Commerce will feature 74 artists displaying and selling work such as oil and acrylic paintings, pastels, pottery and sculpture. The Eatontown Lions Club held its 11th annual Phil Wellington Memorial golf outing in mid June and raised more than $9,500. Partial proceeds benefit Fisher House, a charity supporting the troops stateside and overseas. Proceeds were also donated to the James M. Gurbisz Foundation, an Eatontown native killed in action in Iraq in 2005. The outing named after a past members who passed away 11 years ago drew 133 golfers. Besides the annual event, the club's fundraisers include selling Christmas trees, holding a pancake breakfast, and a 5K run.

McLoone's Rum Runner, Sea Bright, raised $4,725 for Marine Mammal Stranding Center at a deck party it hosted in late June. Approximately 120 people attended, and volunteers from the Marine Mammal Stranding Center were present with a display of their mission as well as educational handouts. McLoone's donated 100 percent of the proceeds from the evening, which totaled $2,925, and facilitated private donations of $1,800. For more information on the center, visit www.mmsc.org.
