      Visions of Hope raises $85,000 for MDA
            The Muscular Dystrophy Association's (MDA) Visions of Hope event held in Aberdeen in early June raised more than $85,000 for the organization. Approximately $49,000 was raised to send 61 children affected by muscular dystrophy to the MDA Summer Camp. Honored at the event were Humanitarian of the Year Award, John Young Jr.

      Choir festival in Ocean Grove July 12
            The Ocean Grove Camp Meeting will present the 55th annual choir festival 7:30 p.m. July 12 at the Great Auditorium, Pilgrim and Ocean Pathways, Ocean Grove. The festival will feature 1,000 choristers from the eastern United States accompanied by organ and festive brass.

      Fourth of July Parade of Boats in Red Bank
            The Shrewsbury River Yacht Club Inc., Fair Haven, will hold its annual Fourth of July Parade of Boats on July 4, beginning at 11 a.m. The boats will leave the yacht club and pass by Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, with a boat review of the decorated boats at noon sharp on the pier in Marine Park, Red Bank. There will be a cannon salute from the Monmouth Boat Club.

      Submissions accepted for VSA, Arc art exhibit
            VSA arts of New Jersey (VSA/NJ), New Brunswick, in conjunction with The Arc of Monmouth, Tinton Falls, are announcing a call for art for the Red Horse Gallery, Freehold Raceway Mall. Deadline for exhibit proposals is July 3, and all two- and three-dimensional media are accepted.

      CPC raises $62,000 at annual golf event
            CPC Behavioral Healthcare, Eatontown, raised $62,000 at its spring invitational golf tournament in early June. Proceeds benefit local children and families in emotional crisis. A total of 31 sponsors and 94 golfers supported the agency's mission at the tournament, led by honorary chairman Maury Povich, Middletown.
