      City budget result of tax and spend mindset
            Iwant to thank Michael Winnick (June 11 letter) for correcting me on my description of his job profile; my error was not intentional. I will certainly be more careful in the future — especially since criticism of the Long Branch '09 budget is not going away anytime soon.

      Rible pleased with mobile office turnout
            Iwould like to thank everyone who attended the 11th District Legislative Office mobile office hours held at the Eatontown Senior Center on May 27. The meeting was a great opportunity for me and my staff to meet with constituents to share ideas about the 11th District. I appreciate the residents who took the time to attend to voice their questions and concerns.

      N.J. candidates for governor must define lieutenant governor role
            For the first time, New Jersey voters will select a lieutenant governor along with a governor in November, but many are unaware or confused about the role the lieutenant governor will play. Soon candidates for governor will announce their picks — and speculation abounds — but not much has been said about the responsibilities and powers of a lieutenant governor.

      Resident proposes leaving both bridges in Highlands
            Nowadays, if you look north (e.g., from the Rumson bridge) toward the Highlands bridge construction, there's what I think is a pretty interesting view of parts of the new bridge rising over the old one. Since both bridges have their advocates, why don't we just leave them both there?
