Janice Hirschorn-Unger

Mrs. Hirschorn-Unger, 61, of Long Branch, died June 5, 2009, at home. She taught elementary school in Elizabeth and Asbury Park public schools, and Hillel School, Ocean Township. She was a former member of the Long Branch Zoning Board. She is survived by her husband, Long Branch City Councilman Brian Unger; three stepchildren, Holly Unger of Somerville, Mass., and Alexander Unger and Emma Winter, both New York City; two sisters, Linda Masarsky of the Colonia section of Woodbridge, and Ellen Malawka of Tucson; two nieces; and three grandnieces and grandnephews. A funeral service was held at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapel, Ocean Township. A reception followed at Temple Beth Miriam, Elberon section of Long Branch.
