The Ocean Township Pool Invitational Classic Car Show will be held June 14. Attendees may participate by voting for favorites in a variety of categories including kids choice, ladies choice, and best in show. Cars must be registered in advance, no drive-ins, please. Tinton Falls Environmental Commission is seeking members from the community to help organize community gardens at Crawford House. The Commission will hold a meeting 7:30 p.m. June 15 to organize the community gardens. The music honor society at Ranney Middle School, Tinton Falls, has been named the 2008-09 Tri-M Chapter of the Year in the junior division by the National Association for Musical Education. The chapter was chosen from 375 junior chapters worldwide and will receive an $800 scholarship for summer music study. Ranney's members organized activities for Music In Our Schools week and collected musical toys for the Toys for Tots drive.

The Jewish Community Center (JCC), 100 Grant Ave., Deal, will hold its ninth annual 5K race/walk 8:30 a.m. July 19, with check-in 7 a.m. The race will wind through the residential areas of the area. Proceeds benefit JCC special needs, health and wellness programs. Awards will be presented to the top male and female runners and age group awards, and random prize drawings will be held for all registered. The race is limited to 500 registrants, and all pre-registered runners/walkers receive a T-shirt. Entry is $20 before July 12, and $25 after. For information, call John at 732-531-9100, ext. 137.
