Frank A. Holmgren Sr.
      Mr. Holmgren, 86, of Eatontown, died May 11, 2009, at home. He served with the U.S. Navy for 19 years aboard the USS Juneau during the Battle of Guadalcanal in 1942, and spent seven days adrift. He was the last remaining survivor of the USS Juneau.

      Mrs. Bennett, 94, of the Elberon section of Long Branch, died May 12, 2009, at the Jersey Shore Rehabilitation Center, Eatontown. She was a lifelong resident of Long Branch. She was a data processing specialist at New Jersey Natural Gas Co. for several years. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Bennett, in 1981.
