The M Shanghai String Band will perform in concert 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at the Central Baptist Church, Third and East Highland avenues in Atlantic Highlands. The concert by the Brooklynbased, roots/bluegrass band is sponsored by the Atlantic Highlands Arts Council.

Roger McGuinn Tom Wilczewski of Long Branch won First Place in the Watercolor category at the 46th Annual Sister Kenny Rehabilitation Institute's Art Show in Minneapolis. An American premiere will close the 60th anniversary season of the award-winning

Monmouth Civic Chorus. In honor of the chorus's diamond anniversary, Three Choral Diamonds is the theme of the performance at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 3 at the Count Basie Theatre, 99 Monmouth St., Red Bank. A full orchestra will join the chorus for the U.S. premiere of "Sphaera" by Guillaume Connesson; Karol Szymanowski's "Stabat Mater," and Felix Mendelssohn's "Tu Es Petrus" (You are my Rock).
