The Amateur Baseball Association of New Jersey (ABA), an adult men's (18 and over) recreational baseball league, is looking for baseball players and teams. The fourth annual Project PAUL charity golf outing will be held June 18 at Bamm Hollow Country Club, Lincroft section of Middletown. Tee times should be reserved by May 31.
Festivities will include a barbeque lunch, an open bar and hors d'oeuvres reception, a dinner buffet with a cash bar, prizes, a 50/50 raffle, and other activities.

The Shorecats, a local U11 girls travel soccer team, won the March 21 "Middletown Spring Kick Off" tournament in Middletown. The Shorecats, playing in the top bracket made up of Premier and National 1 level teams, defeated the Colts Neck Cougars in game 1 by a score of 2-0 on goals from Jessica Egan and Amanda Fontana. In the championship game against the Twin County Magic, Shorecat Shannon Anfuso scored the lone goal for the victory and the championship. The Shorecats were formed in 2007 and began play at the National 5 level. This spring season they will be competing in National 1 in the MOSA league. Over three seasons the Shorecats have only two losses, claiming two division titles and one second-place finish in league play.
