RFH wrestlers looking for bounce back season
After graduating five senior starters (who combined for 44 wins a year ago), the Rumson-Fair Haven Bulldogs have some talented wrestlers returning this year as they look to improve on last season's 3-11 season.
Head coach Seth Herman's Bulldogs should be led by their lower weights, where senior Josh Post (17-12 at 125 a year ago) is complemented nicely by sophomores Jay Oppenheim (16-12 at 103) and Jake Scire (16-14 at 119).
Junior Nick Carducci is also back after putting together a 10-15 season at 130 last year, while senior Jeff Sussman looks to close out his career in style after finishing last year at 13-17 at 145 pounds.
Among the other returning grapplers for the Bulldogs are sophomore Tom Scheffer (5-18 at 135 last year), junior Ty Manning (1-4 at 130), sophomore Jeff Hodgkiss (3-20 at 152) and sophomore Stephen Becker (0-4 at 152).
While the Bulldogs will certainly miss the likes of the graduated Tyler Robinson (18-13 at 189 last year) and Matt Feiring (16-7 at 160), among others, Herman is hoping that his returning wrestlers can pick up the slack.
RFH opened the season at the Matawan Icebreaker Tournament over the weekend, and will participate in the Holmdel Christmas Tournament next week
