      Mrs. Irons-Smith, 100, of Long Branch, died Nov. 7, 2008, at the Whiting Health Care Center, Whiting. She was a telephone operator at NJ Bell Telephone Company, Long Branch, for 17 years, and worked in communications at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, for 10 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard R. Smith, in 1940.

John Martin Marko Sr.
      Mr. Marko, 85, of Little Silver, died Nov. 6, 2008. He was employed at Bell Laboratories, and AT&T, Holmdel, retiring in 1989 as MTS supervisor after 48 years. He was also employed as a draftsman at Western Electric, New York City. During retirement, he was office manager at Test Software Systems Inc., Little Silver, for eight years.
