            Monmouth University senior defender Angelo Amato's first career goal paced the Hawks to a 1-0 Northeast Conference victory over Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday afternoon on The Great Lawn. The win, which was on Senior Day, improves MU's mark to 11-3-2 on the season, including a 5-1-1 record in league play, while the Knights fall to 9-5- 2 and 4-2-1 in the conference.

            After his team won the Monmouth Country Championship, Red Bank Catholic coach Rob DeFilippis was more pleased by the way his girls competed for every position than even the victory. He knew that if his team was going to challenge the likes of Toms River North, Southern Regional and the other top teams in the state, they would need to fight for every position.

      MU football blows first half lead, loses to Albany
            The game plan for the Monmouth University football team to defeat the favored University of Albany was fairly obvious.
