      Community thanked for attending meeting
            We would like to thank everyone who attended the public meeting at the Eatontown Borough Hall building Oct. 15 to discuss the affordable housing laws that will directly affect Eatontown. The fact that more than 100 residents were in attendance helps to illustrate the widespread opposition to these disastrous rules.

      Decision to go to war not to be taken lightly
            Watching the recent gyrations on Capitol Hill over the economic bailout, I couldn't help but reflect that while there was great uncertainty about how Congress would respond to the White House economic plan, there is rarely uncertainty about another, even more serious issue: war. If the president wants it, he gets it.

      Milgram lauded for efforts against mortgage providers
            I applaud the efforts of New Jersey Attorney General Anne Milgram to crack down on individuals and companies trying to take advantage of vulnerable people in the current economic crisis. Just recently, the attorney general announced the state will sue 37 mortgage-loan providers, industry employers, lawyers and others for fraud and racketeering.
