Former University of Maryland basketball standout, and Red Bank native, Tahj Holden has been named the Director of Basketball Operations at Monmouth University. The former Red Bank Regional star was a four-year player for Gary Williams at Maryland, and played in all 36 games in the Terrapins' 2002 NCAA National Championship season.
"I am happy to be back home, with this great opportunity to be part of a solid program," added Holden. "I look forward to helping this program continue its winning tradition, in any way I can."
Holden, who played in 128 career games for the Terrapins, made four NCAA Tournament appearances while in College Park, including two Final Fours. After his playing career at Maryland, Holden played professionally in Istanbul, Turkey. Holden, who was an all-state selection by the Associated Press while at Red Bank Regional High School, won a gold medal with the United States U-17 National Team at the World Youth Games in 1998.
