      Pay attention to local candidates
            According to Assemblyman Jay Weber, New Jersey residents worked 211 days to pay for our state and local government taxes. Starting on Jan. 1, we worked until July 30 to pay our taxes. The only state residents who worked longer than us are those who live in Connecticut.

      Lowering drinking age sends wrong message
            Recently, the issue of lowering the drinking age has received significant media attention. A group called Choose Responsibility has enlisted more than 100 university and college presidents to sign on in support of a debate on the merits of the 21-year-old drinking age.
