Steven Brinberg Steven Brinberg Local jazz vocalist Chelsea Palermo will appear at Tim McLoone's Supper Club at 1200 Ocean Avenue in Asbury Park at 8 p.m. Aug. 21. Judy Barnett and her band Jazz-A-Teria will be swinging at the hot new spot in Asbury Park on Aug. 23. Expect a smokin' night of swing jazz, cool originals and contemporary classics with Judy, accompanied by some of the best jazz players working: Ted Kooshian on piano, Joel Frahm on tenor sax, Morrie Louden, bass, Joe Ascione, drums, and Marshal Rosenberg, percussion. The legendary Stone Pony and the nonprofit DAD (Drums and Disabilities) will host a benefit concert beginning at 7 p.m. on Aug. 30 to help children with autism throughout New Jersey. Tickets are $10. Barbra Streisand impressionist Steven Brinberg will perform in "Simply Barbra" at 8 p.m. Aug. 28 at Tim McLoone's Supper Club, 1200 Ocean Ave. in Asbury Park. Brinberg pays homage to all that is Streisand and writes and stars as "Simply Barbra," which is updated annually. Cost is $20. Dinner is available before and after every show. The first Kids Factory Flicks 2008 will take place 6-8 p.m. Aug. 21 The event will feature 25 imaginative cartoon shorts developed by children in classes at Small Factory Productions, Fair Haven. Improv Jam Comedy Labs, the popular improvisational comedy troupe, will performat the Middletown Arts Center the last Saturday of each month from August to December.
