FAAN Walk for Food Allergy slated for Sept. 7

Tim McLoone will be the honorary

chair of the FAAN Walk for Food Allergy :

Moving Toward A Cure on Sept.7 in Long Branch.

FAAN, or Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network, is one of the world's largest nonprofits providing information about food allergy to the media, schools, health professionals, pharmaceutical companies, the food industry, and government officials, as well as the food-allergic community. McLoone's 7-year-old daughter Hannah has a peanut allergy. Nearly 100,000 New Jersey schoolchildren have food allergies, which has no cure.

The walk starts at the great lawn north of Pier Village at 10 a.m., with check-in for participants at 9 a.m. Entertainment will be provided by Mr. Ray and Rockit! For Kids. Food companies will also provide allergen-free samples.

McLoone is the founder of the nonprofit volunteer Holiday Express and owner of McLoone's Rum Runner in Sea Bright, McLoone's Pier House in Long Branch, McLoone's at Favorites in Fords, and the Salt Water Beach Café in Asbury Park.
