      Subdued triumphs for Raceway Park winners
            Winners at the Lucas Oil SuperNationals at Raceway Park were in no mood to celebrate their victories on Sunday. The death of one of its own, National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Funny Car driver Scott Kalitta in a qualifying round accident on Saturday, cast a gloom over the event.

      RFH's Bellin wins AA honors at Nike Outdoor Nationals
      "I wanted to run as fast as I can. I try and be happy with the effort I put out." - Melissa Bellin, Rumson-Fair Haven High School track and field team
            What started out as a way to help her team in dual meets led to some unexpected results for Melissa Bellin. It all culminated with the Rumson-Fair Haven junior winning All- American honors at the Nike Outdoor Nationals (NON) in Greensboro, N.C., last weekend in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles.

      Big Brown will run in Haskell Invitational
            The 41st running of the $1 million Haskell Invitational, the highlight of the Monmouth Park schedule once again this year, just got a lot more interesting. Big Brown, the Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner, will make his return to the track for the Aug. 3 Haskell, adding a jolt of anticipation to a race that annually attracts Monmouth's biggest crowds of the year.
