The adult book club of Ocean Township Branch of the Monmouth County Library, 701 Deal Road, will discuss "Woman Warrior: Memoirs of a Girlhood Among Ghosts" byMaxine Hong Kingston at 7 p.m. June 2. The program is free, and books may be borrowed from the library.

As part of the library's "Discover the Artist in You" series, creative writer Diane Hara will present a "Write Your Life" workshop to encourages and guides participants through writing exercises at 7 p.m. June 4. Flutist Judy Peckmore will present performance and instructional techniques at 7 p.m. June 11, followed by a student concert. Registration is required for both free programs.

"Discover the Artist: A Film Series" will be presented at the library beginning with the film "The Sheltering Sky" (1990) June 4. "Ray" (2004) will be shown June 11. All the above are at 2 p.m. "Coal Miner's Daughter" (1980) will be shown June 18, and "GirlWith a Pearl Earring" (2003) June 25, both at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
