      Mon. U. to present 'Fifty Posters Exhibition'
            Monmouth University in West Long Branch will be presenting "Fifty Posters Exhibition" from May 1 through May 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the gallery in Pollak Theatre. The exhibition will feature a selection of movie posters created by graphic design alumni and majors from the Department of Art and Design. The event is free and open to the public.

      Art show, expo slated at SCAN center during May
           Senior Citizens Activities Network (SCAN), Monmouth Mall, Eatontown, will celebrate Older American Month with an "Aging With Grace" art show May 5-30. Artists age 50 and older will display talent at the juried all-media show. An art show and expo will be held May 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the rotunda area near the food court.

      Early-bird registration for Scouts under way
            Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore has announced early-bird registration for Girl Scouts is now under way. Parents registering daughters for the 2008-09 Girl Scout year as an early bird receive extra benefits and save money. Girls are eligible for a 50 percent discount on one of several fall programs, and an early bird patch.

      JCC's 'High School Musical' May 25-28
            The Jewish Community Center (JCC), 100 Grant Ave., Deal, will present "High SchoolMusical"May 25 and 26 at 11 a.m., and May 27 and 28 at 7:30 p.m. The performance will feature several actors, singers and dancers ages 7-14 from Ocean Township and Deal who took part in the JCC's Youth Performing Arts program. Tickets are $18 at the door and $15 in advance.

            The St. BarnabasHospice and Palliative Care Center will host a free bereavement lecture, "What Grief Does and How to Deal With It," June 16 from 7-9 p.m. at Borden Auditorium, Monmouth Medical Center, 300 Second Ave., Long Branch. Bereavement counselorHenry deMenawill give the lecture.

            The Ocean Township Library, 701 Deal Road, will present "Arts Wednesdays" during May. The program "100% Dance" with Kim Menna will be held May 14 and will feature a demonstration and audience dance. Noah Gilson, M.D., will discuss digital photography on May 21. Artist Gail Flug Joseph will give instruction on working with acrylic paints on May 28.
