      Opening Ocean Ave. will benefit developers
            Keep all of Old Ocean Avenue closed! Long Branch strikes again! On March 11, Resolution 89-08 will be voted on to open a portion of Old Ocean Avenue. Last summer we raised over 3,500 signatures in a few weeks when the city council wanted to open up all the closed areas of Old Ocean Avenue to vehicular traffic. People from all over were against the opening.

      Health bill is important, but will be costly
            On March 3, legislation came before the Assembly Health and Senior Services Committee, Assembly Bill A-2077, seeking to require all health insurers and the State Health Benefits Plan to cover treatment for alcoholism and other substance-use disorders under same terms and conditions as for other diseases or illnesses.

      Public needs to be aware of message of 'Monologues'
            I am writing to you because I am wondering if the general public is aware of the real message of the play "The Vagina Monologues." I believe many get caught up in the emotions of the title and fail to look beyond it. Domestic and emotional violence is the central theme of this play. Proceeds from the play help to build safe houses for women all over the world.
