      Long Branch native reflects on changes
            Iam a Long Branch native. My grandfather was a fire chief, and Anastasia School was named for my great-uncle. My mother graduated from Long Branch High and was a nurse at Monmouth Medical for many yeas. My father recently retired from the Long Branch post office. My family has been a part of this great city for over 60 years. I love this place.

      Use of disabled in attack outrageous
            It was an act so appalling I could not imagine it could be true. I read with horror the news story of how two women with Down syndrome - with limited intellectual ability - were identified as the "suicide bombers" in the Feb. 1 attack in a Baghdad pet market. Let's be perfectly clear - they were not "suicide" bombers.

      American dream of owning property is withering away
            After reading the comments made by Long Branch Councilman Brian Unger, I believe clarification is in order, having been present at the real estate development panel at Monmouth University. All the players in the abuse of eminent domain in New Jersey were present and accounted for.

      Bottled water bottles are not being recycled
            Do you enjoy the quenching and revitalizing chill of a cold bottle of water after a long run, brisk walk, or during a momentary break? If you say yes, then you are most certainly not alone. I'm right there with you. This, unfortunately, is becoming a big problem for both terrestrial and marine wildlife, however.
