Open house for Hazlet Preschool Feb. 14
      Hazlet Recreation Preschool will hold an open house 9-11:30 a.m. Feb. 14 at James J. Cullen Center, 1776 UnionAve., Hazlet. Registration may also be done at that time.Childrenmust be age 3 or 4 byOct. 1 in order to register. The program consists of three sessions, fall, winter and spring.

Polar plunge in Long Branch to benefit Camp Sunshine
      Camp Sunshine is scheduled to host its second annual A.J.'s New Jersey Polar Plunge at Avenue Beach in Long Branch on Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. Participants, many in costumes, will plunge into the Atlantic Ocean to raise money for Camp Sunshine, a retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.

Clothing drive to benefit 'Christmas in February'
      The St. Vincent de Paul Society of Holy Trinity in Long Branch is holding a clothing drive on Feb. 9 and Feb. 10 in the parish hall on Prospect Street. The following items can be dropped off on Feb. 9 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and Feb. 10 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
