      WEST LONG BRANCH - Students who attended "The Stars Challenge" science enrichment program at Monmouth University this fall were acknowledged for their accomplishments at a celebration event last month. The Stars Challenge is a science enrichment program hosted by Monmouth University in West Long Branch for top sixth- through ninth-grade students.

'Winter Concert 2007' hits all the right notes
     Students of the Audrey W. Clark School in Long Branch performed their "Winter Concert 2007" on Dec. 12. The concert started off with vocal music selections from "December Nights, December Lights," and they also sang songs about Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and Christmas.

Long Branch students give back to soldiers
      The Audrey W. Clark Elementary School in Long Branch assisted the American Recreational Military Services (ARMS) in collecting items to send to soldiers overseas. A fundraiser for ARMS ran at the school from Nov. 14 to Dec. 5 and allowed for students and faculty members to donate items for care packages to be sent to soldiers overseas.
