      Jan. 1 is rolling around, that magical date in which many make resolutions and set new goals. As with each New Year, many of us plan to read more, travel more, watch our weight and kick bad habits. For far too many people, that bad habit is smoking. Parks should use humane alternatives to deer hunt
      The Monmouth County Park System is implementing another deer hunt using bows and arrows, which started Jan. 1 and lasts through mid- February. This "managed" hunt has no limit on the number of deer that can be killed and no limit on the number of licenses to be issued.
