      Anglers locate some serious weakfish action
            My trip on the Island Girl this week resulted in an all-out blitz on some nice-size weakfish. In two hours, Rich Nuzzolo, Bill Lee, Frank Iannone and crew maxed out on weakfish. The scene at the entrance of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge on the Staten Island side was like the movie "Jaws." There were over 100 boats positioning in for the same drift.

      Area teams get ready for postseason play
            It's tournament time around the Shore Conference, and plenty of local soccer and field hockey teams are in the mix for some hardware this fall. In fact, some of the local teams are among the favorites to be adding to their trophy collections in the near future, as both the Shore Conference and state tournaments wrap up.

      Red Bank Catholic girls win county cross country crown in Holmdel
            Red Bank Catholic has won its fair share of cross country championships. But, even for the program that has won more girl's NJSIAA Meet of Champions titles than any other, the 2007 Monmouth County Championship will stand out.

            The Red Bank Parks & Recreation Department is co-hosting an 8-on-8 co-ed dodge ball league to begin Nov. 13. We will play 8-on-8 with a maximum of five males and three females to start the game. Games will be played on Tuesday nights at the Red Bank Middle School. Games will be played between 7:15 and 10 p.m. for approximately nine weeks.
