Big time road racing will return to Monmouth Park Racetrack on Saturday, Oct. 20, when the Breeders' Cup FanFest 5K takes place. Presented in conjunction with the Jersey Shore Running Club, the 5K will feature a unique course starting in Monmouth Park winding through the borough of Oceanport and Wolf Hill Recreation Area and finishing on the racetrack at Monmouth Park.

The 5K will feature overall and age group prize money. There will also be a grand-prize drawing, open to all 5K participants. Prizes include two pairs of tickets to the Monmouth Park Breeders' Cup.

Kiddie Sprints follow the main event on a grass area inside Monmouth Park and feature various distances for children ranging from ages 1 to 12 years.

Monmouth Park will host the 2007 Breeders' Cup World Championships Friday, Oct. 26, and Saturday, Oct. 27.

All participants of the 5K are invited to attend the awards ceremony after the race at the FanFest celebration across the street from Monmouth Park. There will be family fun for all, with rides, live musical entertainment, food, handcrafters and lots more.

Proceeds of the FanFest 5K will benefit the Monmouth Park Charity Fund and Oceanport Volunteer Emergency Services.
