Monmouth U. homecoming events Oct. 13
WEST LONG BRANCH - - Tailgating, cheering on the Hawks, taking in the parade floats and the crowning of the king and queen will all be a part of Monmouth University's Homecoming festivities.
"Rock & Roll" Homecoming 2007 will take place Saturday, Oct. 13, with a variety of fun and entertainment throughout the day for children and adults.
The schedule includes:
9 a.m.- 1 p.m. - - Alumni hospitality tent open, main parking lot. Free "Rock & Roll Homecoming" photos to the first 300 alumni to register sponsored by the Alumni Association.
9 a.m. - - Alumni reunions & tailgate parties begin, main parking lot, $3 parking fee at the gate.
10 a.m. - 2 p.m. - - Attractions for kids ages 2 - 12, adjacent to parking lot sponsored by the Alumni Association. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
10:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. - - Mega alumni sale, Monmouth University bookstore.
University imprinted merchandise will be sale priced at least 10 percent off.
11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - - Diane Henderiks (1988) book signing and creative cooking demo, main parking lot near alumni tent.
11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Phyllis Smith art display "Naturescapes," Ice House Gallery.
11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Pamela Flynn '71, "The Space in Between" exhibit, Rotary Ice House Gallery.
11 a.m. - 1 p.m., MBA Alumni BBQ, Bey Hall Lawn.

11 a.m. - 1 p.m.- Annual WMCX 88.9 and Hawk TV Tailgate Extravaganza, Boylan Gym.
Noon, Rock & Roll Homecoming Parade, main parking lot.
Noon - 1 p.m., Tailgate & spirit competitions, main parking lot. Judges will circulate throughout the parking lot and award prizes for Best BBQ, Best Non-Alcoholic Drink and Best Rock & Roll theme.
1 p.m. Monmouth University vs. Wagner College, Kessler Field. Wear your Monmouth blue and white and cheer the Hawks as they take on the Seahawks.
The half-time program includes crowning of Homecoming King and Queen; announcement of winners for Best Float and Best Tailgate Party contests; and presentation of the 2007 Alumni Service Award to Gary Barnett
