      Police commendation pleases child's mother
            My 9-year-old daughter and her girlfriend were innocently riding their bicycles to a school playground to play together. On their way there, they were being followed by a slow-moving police cruiser with the lights flashing and sirens intermittently sounding off for them to stop.

Irresponsible pet owners, pet hoarders and unscrupulous breeders have set off nonstop pet-population explosions.

      Stiff sentences for bribes will set examples for officials
            This past week, federal Judge William Walls sentenced a local elected official to serve more time than was expected by certain people. I am sure the judge received the admiration of many people in our county and state. Come the last week in October, several more elected officials and also former employees of Monmouth County are up for sentencing.
