RBC harriers sweep all races at Battle of Monmouth meet
It was a clean sweep for Red Bank Catholic's highly regarded girls cross country team.

The Caseys put their depth on full display Saturday at the Shore Coaches Battle of Monmouth Invitational Class Meet held at Monmouth Battlefield State Park in Manalapan.
Taking full advantage of the nature of the meet, run by class, Mary Banks' harriers swept all four class races.
Janine Louie paced the Senior victory, finishing first in 20:23. Teammates Kim Hogan (21:17) and Katie Andree (21:34) were third and fourth for a team score of just eight points. Louie's time for the 5,000-meter course was the fastest of the day.
Becca (21:52) and Marta Laskowski (21:58) led the RBC 'B' team, finishing sixth and seventh. The B team was third with 28 points.
In the Junior race, Emily Rooney (21:00) and Katie Rochford (21:13) went one-two as the Caseys took first, scoring just seven points. Keely Eckberg (21:31) was fourth.
A fifth place by Michelle Savarese (21:40) led the B team to a third-place finish (44).
Michelle Capozzi won the Sophomore race for the Caseys, covering the layout in 20:42. Teammates Mary Rooney (22:39) and Katie Wall (22:57) were fifth and 10th overall. In team scoring, the sophomores went 1-5-8 for 14 points.
Molly McNamara gave the RBC girls their third individual winner when the freshman won her class competition in 12:46 over the 3,200-meter course.
Hannah Eckstein (13:29) and Heather Rochford (13:33) were fourth and fifth as RBC won with 10 points.
In the latest Nike Team National regional rankings, RBC's girls are No. 6 in the Northeast.
Monmouth Regional's boys picked up a nice win in the Sophomore division, as the Golden Falcons edged Princeton, 24-27.
Ian Hamilton led the Falcon flock with his third-place finish (18:06). He was followed by Brendan Johnson (18:56) and Michael Hartman (19:27) in 11th and 12th place. They were 10th and 11th in team scoring for Monmouth.
Patrick Hartman (18:04) was seventh in the Senior race for the Falcons, who finished fourth (39).
The next major meet of the cross country season is the Shore Coaches Invitational at Holmdel Park on Oct. 6. This race is traditionally the first one of the season that brings the top teams and runners from across the state to the site of the state championships.
