A new U9 MOSA soccer team will hold tryouts at the soccer fields behind Monmouth Park in Oceanport on July 21 at 10 a.m. This is the MOSA Peninsula Atlantic Eagles team. For more information, call Craig at (732) 666-1881.
Dominick Falco, 12, of Tinton Falls, nephew of Frank Manzo, the Top Alcohol Funny Car 10-time World Champion, beat out hundreds of local fans to win the POWERade Fan Nationals event title. At every event, local fans compete against each other to win a trip to the Auto Club NHRA Finals in Pomona, Calif., in November. With the win, Falco was able to stand in the POWERade Series winners' circle with the professional winners of the ProCare Rx NHRA SuperNationals.
The Peninsula Warrior Eagles 12U boys travel soccer team will hold tryouts in July. They are looking for a few strong, experienced players to round out their roster. The team will be playing in the MOSA league in the fall of 2007 and spring of 2008. They are currently at the National 1 level and have steadily improved since inception. They will also participate in several premier level tournaments including the N.J. State Cup during the summer and fall.
