Summer starts with Art in the Park

A visitor browses through artwork at last year's event. On Sunday, Long Branch officially opens the summer season with the ninth Art in the Park show at West End Park.

This year, the Long Branch Arts Council joins the Long Branch Historical Association in sponsoring the popular event.

Held just one block from the beach, the outdoor art festival features works on paper and canvas, as well as jewelry, sculpture, hand-formed pottery and mixed-media pieces.

The show is a juried show, and prizes are awarded in each of the divisions.

West End Park is located on the corner of Brighton and Ocean avenues. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
