Adopt-A-Thon Weekend Celebration Saturday, May 5, and Sunday, May 6, from 1-5
p.m. each day.
The adopt-a-thon weekend will be filled with flamenco guitar music, prizes and fun for the whole family. Representatives from the House Rabbit Society, Greyhound Rescue and other humane groups will be present to provide information and answer questions. Experienced adoption counselors will help you choose the perfect pet for your family. The Monmouth County SPCA is located at 260 Wall St., Eatontown.
Fair Haven's First Floors will be held Wednesday, May 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. "An Eclectic Mix of Design and Cuisine," will feature a combination of traditional and contemporary home designs for your enjoyment. In addition, there will be tastings and demonstrations from some of the area's top chefs as well as local merchants' table settings, a new home accessories boutique, and a raffle valued at $1,500. On Wednesday, May 8, the 50th annual Navarumsunk Auxiliary Luncheon will take place at Branches in West Long Branch. The Golden Jubilee event will benefit the programs and services of Family & Children's Services. The luncheon will bring together 50 years of memories with an afternoon of food and fun as well as a show of fashions by Le Papillon. Tickets are $40. The Oceanport Lions Club Charity Car Show will be held May 25 from 6-9 p.m. in the parking lot at Monmouth Park Racetrack on the corner of Oceanport and Port au Peck avenues. The event will be held rain or shine, and trophies will be awarded for over 20 classes including antique, classic, muscle cars and motorcycles. Onsite registration fee is $10. The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County will hold its annual auction Saturday, May 5. The event is open to the public and will feature a silent auction and supper starting at 6 p.m., followed by a live auction at 7:30 p.m. Items up for bid are donated by members of the congregation and will include original art, gourmet dinners, concerts, lessons, parties and vacation retreats. The Unitarian Meetinghouse is located at 1475 W. Front St., in Lincroft. Dinner and auction is $20, and auction only is $10.
