Center announces blood drives scheduled for May
      Central Jersey Blood Center, Shrewsbury, has announced the following local blood drives: + May 10 from 3-7 p.m., a Shrewsbury Boro Community Drive at Shrewsbury Boro School, 20 Obre Place + May 16 from 6-9 p.m. at St. Anselm's Roman Catholic Church, Wayside Road, Wayside section of Tinton Falls.

Support groups, fair at center during May
      Monmouth Medical Center, 300 Second Ave., Long Branch, will host the Mother-to-Mother support group May 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 from 10-11:30 a.m. The free group is for new mothers, fathers, and children age newborn to six months. Preoperative tours for pediatric patients having a procedure at Cranmer Ambulatory Surgery Center will be May 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 from 3-4 p.m.

'Legendary Links Golf Raffle' tickets available
      The Alzheimer's Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter, Denville, is selling tickets to its "Legendary Links Golf Raffle" with the drawing May 23. There will be 1,000 tickets sold, priced at $100 each. The raffle offers golfers the opportunity to play at courses considered "best of the best" due to history, excellence of design, or quality of course conditions.

Jewelry bazaar at SPCA slated for April 28
      The Coalition for the Monmouth County SPCA will host its second annual "Barkingdales Jewelry Bazaar" April 28 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the SPCA at 260 Wall St., Eatontown. The event will feature new and pre-owned jewelry both genuine and costume at special pricing. There will also be "designer," and petcentric jewelry. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

'Wool Days/Sheep Shearing' April 28
      The Monmouth County Park System will hold "Wool Days/Sheep Shearing" April 28 and 29 from noon to 3 p.m. at Longstreet Farm, Longstreet Road, Holmdel (rain or shine). The free event will include sheep shearing, demonstrations by sheep-herding dogs, wagon rides to the nearby Holmes-Hendrickson House, and wool spinning and weaving demonstrations.

      Come visit the Monmouth County SPCA shelter animals during the Cinco de Mayo Adopt-A-Thon Weekend Celebration Saturday, May 5, and Sunday, May 6, from 1-5 p.m. each day. The adopt-a-thon weekend will be filled with flamenco guitar music, prizes and fun for the whole family.
