      Dedicate WLB police building to 9/11 heroes
            I have been very pleased to see the progress being made by Mayor Janet Tucci and our Borough Council on the new police building for West Long Branch. In 2006, I attended a council meeting during which some of our police officers expressed concerns about the condition of the current building.

      $3M pavilion redo will cost taxpayers
            I have just received my application for the bathing pavilion from Monmouth Beach. What a surprise. Trying to compare to the beach and pool rates of the area, you can't. They are private beach clubs; they are a business. Why aren't Sue Howard and Jim Cunniff dropping the $3 million to remodel the club?

      Withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq
            Nearly four years ago, President Bush sent our nation's troops into an unnecessary and unjustified invasion of Iraq. President Bush's reasons for invading Iraq have long since been discredited, and our continued presence there exacerbates the sectarian conflicts that have torn Iraq apart since the removal of Saddam Hussein from power.
