East Asian film series at Brookdale Community College
The International Center at Brookdale Community College is hosting an East Asian Film Series. Screenings are free and will be held Tuesdays, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., MAN building, Room 105, at the Lincroft main campus. Parking is most convenient in lots 6, 7 and 1.
Tuesday, April 17 - "Joint Security Area," directed by Park Chan-wook (2000). This South Korean thriller centers around the investigation of an incident at the 38th parallel dividing North and South Korea. The investigation reveals an illicit cross-border friendship. In Korean with English subtitles.
Tuesday, May 1 - "Shower," directed by Zhang Yang (1999). A Shanghai businessman returns home to help out in his father's bathhouse. This heartwarming film explores the impact of China's rapid modernization on the traditions of a Beijing neighborhood. In Chinese with English subtitles.
