      Rowing on dry land, local youths fare well
            Winter's chill is not nearly enough reason to dampen the competitive spirit of the young athletes of Navesink River Rowing (NRR). On Saturday, Feb. 3, the NRR youth rowing program traveled to the Main Line Slide at Villanova University, Villanova, Pa. The Main Line Slide is a regional regatta, designed to keep rowers in competitive form until spring rowing restarts.

      Sports Shorts
            The Ocean Township High School baseball team would like to announce it will be giving a Free Baseball Coaches Clinic. It will be for all Little League coaches and parents. Clinicians include local college coaches, and the Ocean Township High School baseball coaching staff. The clinic will be Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the high school gym and registration will be from 6:30 to 7 p.m.

      Cox brothers lead Falcons; Nembhard tops field
      Monmouth boys win as Charles Cox wins twice
            Her best event wasn't on the program, but it didn't prevent Ocean Township's sprint star Georgina Nembhard from winning twice at Saturday's Shore Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. Nembhard, whose best event is the 200 meters, was impressive in winning the 55-meter dash in a season's best 7.11 after winning the 55 hurdles (8.86) just minutes before.
